Cupping: - Reduced muscle pain - Improved blood and lymphatic fluid circulation - Improved digestion (movement of body fluids increase peristaltic action) - Helps break down scar tissue
Cupping Side-Effects: - Lightheadedness and dizziness can occur during treatment - Cupping Marks: Unlike bruises, cupping marks are not caused by blunt trauma or injury to soft tissue; rather they are caused but the suction of the cups, and should not hurt after treatment. The coloring of the cupping marks and how long they last will vary from client to client and often also from treatment to treatment. Coloring usually ranges from bright red to a darker purple. Typically a client can expect the marks to last from 3 days to a week, although sometimes they do last longer.
Contraindications: - Cupping should be avoided on areas where there are slipped discs or hernias (past or current) -those undergoing cancer treatment (eps. radiation) -sunburn, or any other acute stages of skin issues (psoriasis, eczema, etc) -bleeding disorders -high/low blood pressure not controlled by medication -edema -vertigo -pregnancy
